Gaming for over 30 years and I’ve seen vastly more waterfalls without secrets behind them than there have been waterfalls that do. 🤷🏻♂️
But we still check every time, just in case
But the disappointment is still there.
Theres just some quick crack hit about finding an easy secret behind a waterfall that we search for our entire lives. Its just cheap dopamine.
and yet, walked into a waterfall in a game yesterday and yup, there’s somethin in here
I feel like I’m in the minority, but I still get a little excited every time. Probably more due to “They did it! That’s sweet” than “I was right”. I think it’s because it still means it was made by somebody who cares
Exactly. I like the tradition of always hiding something behind a waterfall.
what I really want is a snarky 4th wall breaking note about expecting to find treasure behind a water fall with possible implications of niavety
There’s a jukebox behind it playing “don’t go chasing waterfalls…”
Do it like FromSoft. Put a cool item in a barrel early game and I’ll smash all the barrels i see to get nothing 😊
The first time I played The Binding of Isaac, on the first tinted rock I saw and bombed its gave me an spirit heart. You can believe the disappointment I had finding that not every tinted rock gives you a spirit heart.
I greatly appreciate Far Cry 2 which was lousy with waterfalls. A few of them had secrets.
Huh, I don’t remember exploring any waterfalls in Far Cry 2, but overall I think that game had great gem locations and locating experience.
I’m still always hyped when I find treasure behind a waterfall
“GASP It’s a secret path?! Yo we goin on an adventure!”
Put something other than a chest behind the waterfall!
Maybe you should play a special tune with your Flute of 4th Dimension.
