Man that’s like the ONE THING that I totally give star wars a pass for. It wasn’t a lucky shot. The design flaw was there, yes, but the targeting computer was never going to work. Red leader had a lock and it still didn’t work. Wedge Antilles, the best non-Jedi starfighter pilot in the galaxy, expressed strong doubt at least two or three times. Luke had to use the force to destroy it, there was no other way. If you can suspend your disbelief to accept the existence of the force, it makes perfect sense in the context of the story. Fucking masterpiece!

The pseudo-realism in those batman movies and comic book movies in general is a huge part of why I detest them. It’s like an uncanny gap or something. Comic book characters are inherently ridiculous and absurd so I can’t take them seriously. They ask me to suspend too much disbelief.

One specific example from the batman movies is at the end of one of them, I forget which, I think a few hundred cops charge a bunch of guys with machine guns or something? And I remember thinking in the theater they are about to get mowed down World War I style. But somehow they win, they all live, and the streets aren’t flowing with a river of blood. You want me to take them seriously, while having absurd characters and situations, and then you put them in situations where they absolutely should be massacred…I just…I’m out…

The idea that ALL landlords are exploiting ALL tenants ALL of the time is just so fucking stupid it’s hard to listen to. Goods and services cost money, idk why that is such a hard concept to grasp. I lean left and will probably never vote R for the rest of my life, but it’s hard to listen to people like that who have no understanding of basic economics.

It bugs me when people call any stupid little picture or comic a meme. It also bugs me when people say they are making a meme. One does not simply “make” a meme. It must become a meme on its own. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got some clouds to yell at.

I saw mark Hamill perform in a play once called Six dance lessons in six weeks. Rue Mclanahan from the Golden Girls played the female lead. This was like 20+ years ago now I guess.

It was actually a really good play and I got to meet him during the opening night party afterwards. I was an idiot kid and asked him to sign the playbill with a MTFBWY or something dumb like that. He was visibly miffed, understandably, but still politely signed it “forcefully yours.”

It wasn’t until years later that I realized it was kind of rude of me to ask for that at the opening night party of a play he just worked really hard on. Must be real annoying having fanboys pestering you about a shitty movie you did decades ago. Anyway he seemed nice enough and it was a really good play. I got a pic with him around here somewhere, maybe I’ll post if there’s any interest.

I use small pillows, sort of like the end pillow on a sofa, about the size of a shoebox maybe. It’s all the support I really need and it’s small enough to be able to shift it around easily into whatever shape or position you need. Give that a shot.
