Ocean acidification: Am I a joke to you?
I dumped seltzer water into the ocean so now some of it is carbonated, boom earth unflattened.
What do you mean none of it is carbonated? Ain’t you ever heard of soda springs?
Oh, it’s all carbonated. Once the atmosphere is hot enough to lower the pressure across the boundary interface between air and sea and/or heat the oceans sufficiently to ex-gas, it’ll fizz. It’ll fizz for sure.
In some places it already does in the summer :)
Can someone explain the joke for me?
When a fizzy drink loses its fizziness, it’s described as flat.
Flat water=non-carbonated water or sometimes tap water. Since the oceans/surface water is not sparkling/carbonated water it must be flat water. Since the earth is mostly water it must be flat, too.
That was a funny joke, thanks for explaining.
All living things are made of carbon. Most living things live in the water.
Ergo: Most water is carbonated.
Most things live on land, about 2% of Earth’s biomass is in the oceans.
There are a lot of trees, fungus, and cows
