While all TAS episodes had some kind of moral lesson, S1 E10 was an outright criticism of substance use.
M’Ress and Scotty, unwittingly exposed, end up enamoured then incensed with one another. One is never sure how different that is from a Caitian’s usual romantic style.
Chapel comes off badly in this one. As Spock puts it “A few moments of love, paid for with several hours of hatred.” It’s all the more poignant given SNW’s deepening of their backstory.
Of course Harry Mudd was involved in this.
I only watched TAS once, and I barely remember it now. I should do another watch - I bet it’s littered with memeable scenes.
It really is worth the rewatch.
I have the recently published Official Guide by Aaron Harvey and Rich Schepis. It’s really good.
And TrekCore as a full set of BlueRay screencaps just waiting to be memed.
I’ve yet to buckle down and watch it. All my knowledge is referential. In the absence of ketracel white, would it help if I was drunk and/or high to watch them?
It’s 70s Saturday morning animation in the trendy hot pink, orange, lime green and purple of the psychedelic era.
It’s got a lot of episodes written by TOS writers that got reworked from live action, but also some very out there original stuff. Roddenberry really pushed the writers to take advantage of the animated medium.
It’s trippy and worth your time. A couple of episodes, including Yesteryear, are S-tier.
Is Yesteryear the one with Spock’s parents? A friend of mine sat me down and insisted I watch it and yeah it’s excellent.
With Spock as a child with his selát - yes that’s it. It got a lot of praise from child development experts and parents for dealing with the difficult topic of a pet’s death. It was a children’s show first.
So what you’re telling me is…
But not so fargone as to forget what happened. Got it.
