Any idea for what to use as a media manager? I’m getting ready to go on a small trip and I would like to be able to import all my videos/pictures from an SD card and have them filed based on the meta data. At least by date. I’ve always done this manually and it’s not awful, but there has to be a better way.
immich might be worth looking into.
Thank you. I’ll book mark that site and try it out when I get back.
+1 for Immich
Photoprism is really quite nice for a containerized solution.
For mostly photos I’m a big fan of Digicam
On what platform? Laptop? Phone? Raspberry Pi hooked up to a TV?
Desktop, Linux.
Have a look at tinyMediaManager.
I’ll take a look at it. I just know that I’m going to have a bunch of short videos and a bunch of pictures and I would like to have them pre-sorted (I guess that’s the term) upon moving them to my desktop and then I can go through my trip like day-by-day. It’s not for sharing with anyone, just for my own use. I could bring a laptop and just do it daily, but I don’t really want to even bring a laptop.
Wait, I think I’ve misunderstood what you meant by “media”. If you essentially want a self-sorting photo gallery, I’m afraid I have nothing to offer. Sorry.
Good luck, though. I’ve seen some good suggestions from other users.
What OS?
shotwell can do this I think
I will give it a try. Thanks
