If you invite someone to enjoy your meal, they are legally obligated to sit down with you and enjoy your meal.

For a second I didn’t think he did that because he said it, but rather he said it because he knew it the waiter should enjoy his last meal.

I say it regardless. On the things to give a fuck about, this ranks pretty low.
