x (formerly twitter)… you mean twitter (desperately x)

even elon calls it twitter dude why are people still pretending they have to honor a rebrand of a company by a dipshit who deadnames and misgenders his own kid.

nah, i realize it’s popular around here but it still acknowledges the rebrand. I just don’t want to.

I’m sticking with “Twitter (currently known as X)”.

it’s not though. only musk glazers make an effort to call it x. everyone either says twitter or does something with parentheses. if it were currently known as x people would’ve stopped mentioning both names. it’s been more than a year now. complete failure of a rebrand IMO.

If you have the choice between Firefox and Xitter and are conflicted… What are you even doing with your life??

I’m a little confused, that’s pretty typical usage of the word. Or is it because it comes across a little pretentious? As though they’re just trying to cooperate with you to more easily violate your privacy.

I can’t speak for OP, but personally it makes my bullshit detector kick into high gear any time a corporate channel talks in a casual, friendly tone like that. It comes across as very insincere and infantalizing to me.

I hate to break it to you but almost every major corporation has a person whose entire job is to translate corporate copy into easy-to-parse, casual, friendly “conversation,” because they do want you to think of the brand as your trusted friend. They’re trying to manipulate us at every level, every interaction.

I deleted that dumpster fire the minute old Space Karen bought it. I wasn’t tweeting but I used it to read some people. But I’m ok to give that up to never ever support what fuckface does.

If you’re using Twitter, fuck you.

I don’t care why you’re still on some fascist manchild’s propaganda box. Leave. You’re already here - you know alternatives exist. Stop visiting the Nazi bar.
