I recently finished Famicom Detective Club 1 and I’m now looking for more good stuff in that vain while playing the prequel. Which games have you enjoyed in this subgenre in the past? Also played the first Danganronpa and Phoenix Wright.

It’s a stretch, but I’d recommend Disco Elysium. There is more actual gameplay than a visual novel has, but it’s still mostly reading.
As for the story itself, you’re a cop investigating a murder. The world is interesting and full of social/political critique.
I actually have that in my collection and played it for a couple of hours. As it’s so often the case, something shiny distracted me…
