I’m too young to have experienced RadioShack and Blockbuster Video. Also Toys R Us still exists in my country (Still exists in Canada.) To make a close equivalent I’d say maybe Sears or Target, both whom no longer have a presence in Canada.
Reddit is talking about decentralization and stuff like that like they aren’t a centralized platform themselves. Giving control to the community, but remember if we don’t like what you’re doing with your communities we’ll threaten your moderation team!!!
I know Opera is Chromium based but according to statcounter Opera accounts for nearly the same % (actually slightly higher) overall desktop browser market share (Opera 4.48% : Firefox 5.96%)
Yet support for Opera but not Firefox 🗿
It’s sitting at 2.8 here in Canada!
Thanks for the list. I’ve been using a mixture of both Jerboa and Connect so far. They’re both good but as is there’s still a lot of room for improvement to bring them the extra mile. Also excited for when Sync releases as well for Lemmy. It was my app of choice for Reddit and I hope that it will become my app of choice for Lemmy as well once it releases.
I don’t see how something like this would provide a better shopping experience for consumers then just going straight to wallmart.com or amazon.com or any other storefront accessible through a web browser. The only thing different is that its happening on the Roblox client (not a web browser or dedicated app) and you get a virtual item alongside the physical item (not saying the digital accessories are bad but they’re definitely not much of a “perk” of purchasing through the Roblox client.)
