this is really cool! i love how it’s telling a story and building a world with just one image

grub theming?
maybe less, though i’ve also been spending less time on social media like that lately anyways. though i do like lemmy, reddit has a lot more content in general and subs for my more niche interests (mostly battlejackets), so i do find myself scrolling there a fair amount. it tends to be a more conscious decision though, which is good, and i tend to stick to only a few subs that i really like. less mindless scrolling, more hunting for inspiration and conversation.
i really like these!
wtf this is actually true though 💀💀💀
man, i remember when the original of this came out. i was pretty young and thought jinx was SO cool, loved everything about her. i like this cover a lot :) thanks for bringing back good memories!
this one’s really great too! tbh i think the curved spikes look really good as is, but if you want to make them straight go for it for sure :)
wait what 😅 context?
get scared has been one of my favourite bands lately. i’ve been loving their mix of singing and screaming, the singers voice, and the use of instruments like guitars and drums. i definitely prefer rock over other genres, so the instruments are super important to me as both a backboard for vocals and a catchy break between verses, and i think they do a great job of both.
the lyrical matter can be pretty edgy (for lack of a better word) at times, but most music i listen to tends to be like that anyway, and i don’t personally mind.
for anyone interested in more, i recommend Don’t You Dare Forget the Sun, Voodoo, and Suffer.
good shit, i love the sketch and lore/worldbuilding! definitely post the finished version if your planning on making one :)
seconded! this one was excellent
all of spirit phone is really good! love neil’s stuff :)
thank you for the detailed info!! i appreciate it :)
hahaha i always think of him too when i hear them!
wasn’t expecting to like these as much as i did! taking back sunday is a band i’ve been meaning to look into for a long time, but have never really gotten around to. and blackwater holylight, while a little bit low energy for me personally, has a really lovely laid back sound that i like too!
your ghengis khan suggestion reminds me of this ghengis kahn which is a pretty different genre, but pretty catchy nonetheless
these look really good!! the thin rib cage bones must have been a pain, but you have a really steady hand and made them look great :)
i actually have a couple questions about the process, i haven’t painted 3D printed objects before but i’d be interested in giving it a go at some point. what kind of paint did you use? did you need to prime or sand down the plastic at all beforehand? i can’t imagine sanding would be super possible on such tiny figures, did you have any issues with the grooves of the plastic from printing?
this is absolutely disgusting- please share when you’ve finished it :) and i really like the thought you’ve put into all of it, with what kind of weapon they’re holding and how they can interact with other pestilence and stuff!
about how long do you think it takes you to make a sketch like this?
cute! i like the colours too :)
i like the melody, and while i see what they’re doing with the mix of a higher female singer and lower, more gritty male singer, i don’t think that works for me personally. i also tend to be really picky about singers’ voices in what i listen to haha :)
thanks for sharing!
same!
