I knew it was this guy just from the headlines. He’s tricked the media in the past with the fake beach pictures after hurricanes/nor’easterns… also flooded the market around here with fake sunsets and dolphins, etc. and has really hurt the livelihood of some local artists because a lot of people can’t tell they are fakes. He’s another provoquer and seeing this make the news will inspire him to keep making more fakes.
I used to work for a major research university and they switched to Kaspersky. It baffled me that any foreign AV was permitted, let alone one made in a hostile country.
About $3.50
No, but they are a nice addition if you like them with the added benefit of more fiber, oils, and minerals. They do help thicken everything up, so if you aren’t going to add them maybe use less milk unless you like it soupy.
I normally make a few portions at once since imo they have better texture anyway if you give them two+ days to absorb moisture. I try to make another portion every day, but since I have a few in the fridge it gives me breathing room if I’m feeling lazy any particular day.
Here’s my unsolicited recipe for overnight oats, you sweet, fiber-deficient lemmies:
1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, a glob of honey, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 3/4 cup of milk, then in the morning add 1/4 cup crushed walnuts and a ton of blueberries.
I asked GPT 3.5, Claude 3, Llama 3, and Mixtrial and they all said “eleven eleven.” No fun.
I have actually come to prefer using AI instead of a search engine at work for most things sysadmin related (using DuckDuckGo’s AI chat feature), but I 100% have found that Copilot performs far worse than competing products. Having it that engrained in the computer is a very negative feature, despite the battery improvements.
They’d probably just buy canonical in this scenario.
Sysadmin. I keep an eye on governmentjobs.com (US) and university/school system websites in my state whenever I’m looking for something new. I have a generic resume that I rewrite for each job I apply for using keywords in the job listing. I also always write a cover letter that details why I’m interested in the job and why my experience makes me a good fit. A lot of people say hiring teams don’t read those, but I’ve been told numerous times that my cover letter set me apart. I don’t apply for jobs I’m tepid about, so I don’t waste a lot of time applying dozens of places. I’d estimate if I’m called for an interview, I also get a job offer 75% off the time.
A lot of people discourage from public sector jobs, but in my experience they pay almost as well as private sector ones and come with better benefits, less stress, fewer mandatory overtime situations, etc.
You could test that theory by attempting to boot from a live USB if you happen to have one.
Since no one else has said it, this isn’t a design flaw of the truck. The operator didn’t let air out of their tires. Before driving on sand you really want to let your tire PSI down to like 15 to be safe. I used to pull hummers out of the beach with my old four cylinder Nissan pickup because their drivers were often overconfident they didn’t need to deflate their tires (or just completely unaware). I don’t like Tesla but this is an operator error, not a fatal flaw of the truck.
I’ve had Aerogardens for years. I don’t think any of mine are IoT devices. I’ve grown a ton of lettuce, basil varieties, peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, etc… A bit pricey up front if you don’t buy on sale, but I feel I got way more produce out of them than expected.
