A massive company not wanting to be part of a niche potentially controversial event also harms noone, but here we are rage-posting on social media and people in the comments harassing others for not agreeing with them…
It’s become less that DDG became better than Google and more that Google has been abysmal lately. Their algorithm has been overwhelmed by bots, the top 3 results are ads and the rest of the page is usually spam clickbait articles written by AI. It was a nightmare when I wanted help with disk partitioning. All spam.
I use duckduckgo now too. It’s private and better!
What the hell, this still happens? This was a bug I had like 6-7 years ago. Same problem, KDEWallet popping up asking me for verification even though I never used it.
I think my problem is less the size of the game and more the user experience when it comes to these games. I love Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom even though they’re considered kind of overwhelmingly big, but I’ve enjoyed exploring it and having fun with it since it just drops you into the game and eases you into it.
Meanwhile, something like Skyrim and other RPGs makes me roll my eyes a little at the amount of things and markers you’re supposed to be looking at. I hate entering a new town and getting lost and having to look for everything. I hate markers telling me I should look everywhere and finish 20 quests.
Mostly aesthetically, but also since Linux Mint is a very stable distro updates are usually slow and the packages it uses are often a little outdated. If you’re the type of person to want to update to the newest thing as soon as it’s out, then it’s probably not for you.

FF16 looks incredible, but sadly I don’t own a PS5 so I guess I’ll wait for the PC version to come around. I hope it isn’t too far away…
Transistor is amazing. Be aware that it was free on the Epic store at some point, so if you redeem games a lot you may already have it in your inventory.
There’s something really addictive about Trackmania’s simplicity. The physics feel great and it always feels like getting a personal best is just one lap away.
Shame the campaign this season is kinda boring though. It’s all fullspeed maps!
Saved you a click: The rival platform is Kick.
Not a fan of XQC but it’s great that there’s a Twitch rival trying to get serious. $100 million dollars for just one streamer though? Sounds crazy.
Nope, I’ve seen it happen with lemmy.ml and lemmy.world, it could be that it happens more on servers that are under stress.
It’s a known issue with Lemmy, it should be fixed by next release.
Rumors have it that Avowed will show up in the Xbox conference. I’m really excited to finally see some gameplay for it after a looong time of radio silence.
I remember playing Destiny 1 and being so underwhelmed. I picked up Destiny 2 with my friends after it went f2p and it’s honestly gotten so much better. Crazy that it’s been 10 years now.
Pretty much my thoughts as well.
My bet is that they’re going to allow other people from the fediverse to post on it but won’t allow instagram users to see other instances. Wouldn’t want your customers getting off the official servers now.
Oh no. They don’t exactly have a clean track record.
Never understood the hate for weapons breaking. You practically get showered with weapons and in ToTK you have a slew of weapon parts you can use to very quickly make another good weapon. If weapons never broke then you’d use the same one throughout the entire game and never be encouraged to try something new.
Sounds like an average patch in Dwarf Fortress. My favorite is “Stopped cats from randomly dying of alcohol overdose”. The dev talked about it in the intro for this interview
or maybe we acknowledge these issues and browse lemmy for entertainment and getting away from the stresses of daily life rather than be constantly reminded of it and roped into repetitive discussions that are preaching to the choir
err, what I meant was we need to burn down the system
