Love it! That’s been on my knitting bucket list for awhile, I love the patterns with them.

That yarn is gorgeous!!
I looked up this article about it after googling the lyrics. Sounds like there was much more backlash after the music video dropped which has now been pulled from some streaming sites.
The bigger controversy was filming at a courthouse famous for lynching and using BLM protest footage in the video.
Interesting, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, humans haven’t changed much over the eons.
Any recommendations for true disaster videos? That sounds y up my alley.
It concerns me that we’re seeing this more and more in industry. Middle fingers to regulations because when you have enough money, it doesn’t matter.
I brush mine in the shower.
And it’s not like we learn this stuff in school. It’s not written out anywhere. We have to rely on word of mouth, people with experience, or people like the commenter above you who are familiar with the ins and outs.
The bottom line is that it is complicated on purpose and designed to wear you out so you don’t get coverage for your most basic human needs - like peeing without your urethra being on fire.
I find myself making fun of the engineering, but I think it’s a defense mechanism. I’ve had a pretty strong interest in the Titanic since I was a kid, and if I were offered the opportunity to see it, I think I’d be more likely to go. And it’s scary to think I’d end up on a vessel that wasn’t designed to do the thing it advertised it can.
How much did the people who went actually know about the sub they were on? How common is it to sign a waiver about dying to go on a commercial sub?
It’s easy to laugh with hindsight, but it’s scary to think what could have happened if I were in the position to choose to go.
The moments before the implosion were something that no one should ever need to feel in their lives.
Just to this point - it would have happened too fast for them to even register anything was happening. Complete destruction would occur in 1/20th of a second. (Per Insider/Naval History Magazine)
Is there proof that they’re not profitable? I ask because the only place I’ve heard that is when spez has parroted it on interviews. But I question the reality of that because how else would they be in operation for 15 years if they weren’t able to make any profit or were operating at a loss? It just doesn’t make sense.
Granted - I’m not saying they shouldn’t charge for the API access, but I’m curious what their real numbers are.
I tried a weighted blanket once and never stopped. I had to travel for work and told myself it was silly to bring it, but then had a hard time sleeping without it. I added makeshift weight to my bedding - all the hotel towels, extra blanket, fake couch rug thing, and vowed I’d just travel with heavy luggage from now on.
I have taped my phone number to my monitor so that if I have to leave an unexpected voicemail, I can read it. Every. Time.
It used to take me most of the day to script and get up the courage to make a phone call, and if I unexpectedly got voicemail, I’d have to hang up, script a voicemail and call back to leave it. I’ve at least done it enough and listened to how others do it enough that I can do it now. But I still email way more, only call when I have to, and now worry about whether it will be the right time of day or.in the right point of their workflow for me to call. 🤦♀️
I’ve heard that too - part of the issue with dyslexia is that it’s easy to flip the letters around in your head, when none of the letters look the same, it makes it easier to read. Open Dyslexia is another one that does something similar.
I also heard that three of his four lawyers quit within the last month and the local lawyers are either flat out saying no or demanding large payment up front.
No, it just feels like that because you can’t keep it up anymore.
