Doesn’t PS2 use a PowerPC architecture? And newer consoles are on x86 so having FPGAs for either stack feels uneconomic right now. Also the issue with making roms compatible is a lot of them used chip level tricks to get certain things to function.

More isn’t being produced but there are definitely boxes sitting with distribution centers waiting to get sold off.
Agree with all of this. People who deride games just because they are mobile are not much better than those people who see video games as being strictly for children
