Nonono, that’s it!!! I totally missed the link :)
After fiddling with my original CDs back two years I gave up and installed these! Wide-screen, stable, high resolutions, perfect! I was so happy fans decided to get them running again!

A friendly reminder to everyone: there is a fan project, part 1 and 2 updated to run on modern systems. They have their own page, the full games can be downloaded from there, and they just work. Just Google the title and fan update.
Oh man, I hope so!
I prefer their games over anything Bethesda/Diablo/whatever stuff.
Their games, as clunky and weird they sometimes are, have soul and passion. I’m playing Risen 2 at the moment, and I just love the world. So much too see, every corner has something to find, even if it’s just a bottle of Rum.
I started to play a year ago, but dropped it pretty fast. Though I really liked it.
If they put in the effort and implement a good save game system and proper mouse/keyboard controls, they can have my money!
I lowered the difficulty, and I were able to kill bigger enemies with the weapon of my choice. But they became bullet sponges. There’s no fun in that. I too prefer 2016, I like my shotgun.
Rated PG. It can work (The old Mortal Kombat movie), but this looks like crap.
It’s Retro Man Cave! I had no idea he had a new name, no wonder I have not seen him in such a long time!
I was expecting at least one Thomas The Tank Engine cameo somewhere!
Well, time to get Witcher 3 installed again…
Depends. I enjoy a card game or sudoku on mobile.
But for real games I use my PC. I don’t understand people going crazy about the steam deck too. Who in their right mind enjoys for example Cyberpunk on a tiny screen, that’s like watching Dune on your phone. What’s the point?
Friedrich is one of my favourites, the details in his paintings are just amazing.
If I search for something specific I now usually ask chatgpt and describe what I’m looking for. The results are often (not always) far better.
I don’t want to click through 50 pages of unrelated shit anymore.
That name rang a bell, I was not really sure why. I just went to my bookshelf, and one of my oldest books I actually started to collect was the novelization of the movie Total Recall (the Schwarzenegger one), written by - Piers Anthony!
I had no idea that he was pretty famous, I loved that book, but never cared about the author, time to change that! Xanth series, you say? I will definitely check that out. Thanks!
You’re confusing the title with Metropolis by Fritz Lang I assume. That was my first thought as well.
You’re absolutely right, what pisses people of is that you can’t do shit without launchers today anymore, except for gog.
The Discs are yours, regardless if it’s a license or not, they just work whatever the publisher says.
Always on, Games as a service and game launchers and all that shit is a cancer that has to be cured.
Well, they will kill the servers sooner or later, and you won’t be able to play it ever again.
Except you look for other ways, maybe you’re in luck.
Wait - are you saying people didn’t have our modern social norms back then? Who would have thought!
Why was my first thought “Serious” Sam Stone?
Did you forget to post your thoughts or is my client acting up?
And which Halloween 2 do you refer to? 1981 or 2009?
Thank you! I have about 5 games on steam, so I haven’t installed it on my system. The only interesting one is Doom 2016, so for a moment I thought I could download the installer as a backup without having to use steam anymore in the future when I do want to play it again. Would have been nice. Thanks for clarifying!
I bought it blind on gog when it was on sale, visual novels aren’t my thing usually, but it did not have the anime look so I thought I gave it a try and drop it after half an hour.
Turns out it was one of the most impressive games I played these last years. What a mindfuck!
And the ending warmed my cold heart!
So I wanted to watch a review on YouTube, and what! The! Fuck! I had no idea how different (and gruesome) this game could get! Soon it’s holiday time, and it’s on my top list of things to do! Let’s see how I can fuck things up!
