Nice!! Ive been using Sync for 10+ years and realized almost always whatever feature I wish was there had an existing setting already 😁

On cards view, there is settings for “partial slide” where it goes from up vote, then down vote, and then hide post with full slide if that makes sense depending on how far I swipe.
Not sure about the layout you’re using, but with cards layout there are swipe gestures to up vote/down vote without opening the posts.
Not sure why I decided to click and unblur this… Riskiest click of the day
Yes, it’s like me going into a nasty public restroom - gotta do my business asap and gtfo
Honestly just the fact that the protest gave awareness to viable reddit alternatives is good enough. And the blackout helped in that regard to force users to search for alternatives (like me). Obviously subs will be forced back open, but people have options now with whole communities here that literally did not exist weeks ago.
Couldn’t they have integrated ads as posts, then it’d show on any third part app. And I saw other ideas floating around about making third party app access a feature behind Reddit Premium. So many alternatives and they choose the most idiotic one
i’m sure that will be a monumental task but here’s to hoping!
can confirm i see this post on lemmy.world
in fact, my excitement about lemmy has left me with even less time, the irony
+1, I feel much more inclined to contribute to the community in lemmy vs. reddit. And its awesome to see so much growth in the past few days (and I’m sure we’re about to see it explode in the next week)
if you’re on Android there is an app for Lemmy called Jerboa which is working well for me (and also just released a new update with a ton of additions/fixes!). You can use the app to connect to any lemmy instance.
Decentralized is the future of the internet
Lurkers (me) are leaving too, hopefully en masse.
if there can be a coordinated migration to the fediverse during blackout, that’d be the dream.
What’s the difference between the multiple lemmy instances and something else also ActivityPub based like kbin? Is lemmy.ml vs lemmy.world the same as comparing lemmy.world with kbin.social? I have accounts with both Lemmy and Kbin and confused a bit by what I’m seeing, and also Threads vs Magazines vs Microblogs haha. So much to learn about the fediverse!
im going back and forth between lemmy and kbin depending on whatever is not currently hugged to death
Yeah I’ve been kind of browsing both reddit and Lemmy for awhile, but over time in getting super tired of the constant boring/obvious AITAH and just teenage relationship advice spam that floods the frontpage. Definitely has made me open reddit less, and really just for specific communities I can’t find elsewhere.
