I have had two Lenovo models as my last two laptops, including the one I’m on now which is a Yoga 9i. I have buyers remorse so much for both of these and stupidly got pulled in by low prices and a long list of features. They’re slow, unupgradable, both had issues where i needed to send them back for repair as they turned off randomly which was very frustrating with lots of lost work, and then lots of time without the laptop…

I think after thinkpads their overall quality has hit the pan

Was your project folder synced via nextcloud?? I had a similar issue arise with my projects folder being deleted and not in the trash bin etc, can only think nextcloud was the culprit as I had removed the folder from my server and default behaviour must be to replicate that removal locally.

Are they losing enough to have an impact to their ad traffic however? Something reddit definitely have lost is the monopoly on online communities, now there’s a bunch of alternatives that people use which has definitely reduced the value of reddit.

I like the hackernews approach where downvotes on comments aren’t seen, the comments are just faded out. The more downvotes = the more invisible it is.

I was on kbin for an afternoon and got downvote brigaded for calling out a highly updated post for spreading false info. I probably I could’ve worded my comment all fluffy and nice, but I was frustrated at the op for making things further confusing for everyone and the tone of my comment reflected that. I since deleted my kbin account and hoping that downvote brigade trend and hivemind stays on kbin.

Good point, I do wonder what % of userbase are in support of these protest and what % don’t care? Seems like ~100k has joined these fediverse alternatives out of reddit’s 50,000,000 daily active users 0.2% if my tired maths hasn’t failed me.

With regards to Lemmy - I’m not a communist by any stretch of the imagination but I’m definitely more left leaning and liberal, and the community aspect here is decent so far.

I originally downloaded potplayer because my VLC had this weird issue where non of the UI would show, only the video stream and I couldn’t fix it with reinstalls etc. etc.

I absolutely love it, and I recently been using it for listening to audio as well and it does a tidy job at that too. I use rekordbox for formating and organising my music, potplayer for listening to it now and poweramp on my phone.

Just a bonus - I use syncthing to automatically keep my phone music collection always updated with my latest tracks.
