Personally, while I do use Heroic to access games from the epic games launcher, I will probably never buy anything from them because of Epic buying exclusivity and removing Steam as an option from games that were crowd-funded.

Note that because of this, it is not going to be sold in any regions that don’t officially have PSN
and because of this, the game isn’t available in my region. Guess I’ll pirate it if I ever feel like playing it then.
I subscribe to Gamepass, mostly because it’s only $2 a month in my region, so it’s really good value for me. At 15$ I probably wouldn’t have pushed through with it.
I tried it on the Gemini web app and couldn’t replicate the results. Is that different from the AI overview?
They had to suspend that policy for HL: Alyx though.
There’s 3 days left for the kickstarter for anyone that wants to back this.
It’s kind of weird too since they sell PS5s in regions where PSN isn’t officially supported.
It’s fairly common, see a lot of them on the top selling games too
One of the examples I’ve seen of SBI “forcing inclusivity” was making Saga in Alan Wake 2 black. I’m not familiar enough with SBI’s work to do make a real judgement, but if this is one of the examples being used to say that SBI is making games worse, then the curator list is dumb.
Honestly surprised that people seem to have forgotten about the harassment. It was really bad for some streamers and was inexcusable. It’s like how gamingcirclejerk tried to deny that the harassment even happened.
I live in a third world country and have to usually have to take taxis to get anywhere without being a sweaty mess and I’d love to the point where public transportation can get you anywhere in the metro, similar to how Hong Kong (where income taxes are pretty low as far as I know) does it.
I honestly don’t get their argument. Yes, the current situation is bad and will necessitate using cars, but isn’t that the point of the post? That things could be better? That getting to the reality where cars are not as needed would be great? It’s such a strange attack against people who want better public transportation infrastructure.
A lot of these people who love defending Epic also treat them as if they didn’t do anything to earn their reputation for being shitty back then.
From what I remember, some of the content was already on the disk.
No. I’m playing on the easy/story mode and the battles still take forever.
So they’ve actually captured the tabletop experience with this game.
First impressions matter and Epic fucked up big time when they launched the store. There were a lot of missing features that were available on other storefronts and it was a pain to use. Another thing that really pissed people off was when they made exclusivity deals for games that were crowdfunded. A lot of people did not like that they lost the ability to play on a platform that they preferred when they directly contributed to a game being made. It was also scummy to make deals for games that were already announced on Steam (i.e. Metro: Exodus, Darq) While the store is better now and they’re funding games instead of making exclusivity deals, there is a reason why a lot of people do not trust Epic or continue to dislike them despite the free games.
Epic Games hasn’t done it much lately, but when they first launched they paid a few big games to be Epic Games Store exclusives which is obviously anti-consumer behaviour.
Exclusivity deals on their own were pretty bad, but what really pissed people off was that some of the games that were made exclusive were crowdfunded.
I think they’re funding games now so that there’s less backlash to exclusivity.
I’ve also run into a few issues with the epic games launcher (i.e. game wouldn’t patch, so I had to reinstall the launcher. Having to reinstall a game because the launcher doesn’t see it anymore, launcher is slow, etc.) which is why I use the Heroic launcher.
