Because he’s using a map tool that allows you to draw out a perimeter then calculate both the area contained in that perimeter, and then the actual perimeter itself. Both values are given at the same time like in this image. Here is one such tool that gives you both the area and perimeter at the same time: https://www.mapdevelopers.com/area_finder.php
The subreddit can get weird at times too. Like them talking about how sexy Jay and Rich are. Fan culture in general these days is pretty bad. I know I’ll never have to worry about getting famous and having a fandom, but if it ever happened I’d be cautious whenever I meet a fan. Some of them act like you owe them something or they own a piece of you. Ugh.
Not to mention Jay’s pervert movie recommendations.
It was created six years ago. The prompt was the artist’s mind.
No it’s not. Here’s a work he did 5 years ago on the same concept:

AI art didn’t exist 5 years ago, yet the piece is still high quality. It’s not AI.
Buttered saltine club, represent!
Actually it’s a jackdaw.
USS America (LHA-6): https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/USS_America_(LHA-6)_F-35B_loaded.jpg
All the fixed wing aircraft on it are F-35Bs which are STOVL (short take off vertical landing) and V-22 Ospreys (technically tilt-rotor but the wings themselves are stationary), which have both VTOL (vertical take off and landing) and STOL (short take off and landing) capabilities. So the idea that an open top surface ship can’t be designed just for VTOL, STOL, or STOVL fixed wing aircraft is ludicrous lol.
I’m not the artist. You would need to contact her.
What prior discussion?
I don’t know. It was personal work that she did between commissions and she didn’t elaborate beyond that in her tweet.
I lived in Colorado for a few years in the mid 90s and I remember seeing a bumper sticker that said in big letters “GO BACK TO CALIFORNIA”and in smaller letters below it said “and take a Texan with you.” Always thought that was funny despite the explicit nativism. And they were mad for the reason you described: they didn’t like Californians driving up real estate prices (and Texans were also doing it to a lesser extent). I can understand where the resentment comes from, but I’m not fond of the hostility towards outsiders.
Good to know. I’ve fixed it and won’t do it again. Thanks for the heads up.
All she wrote is that it was a commission. I’m guessing it’s not from any IP.
