.world is more or less an American instance in all but name.

True, now you’re making me want to replay Origins lol.
I enjoyed Origins as well. To me Odyssey was a more refined version of Origins. Better exploration, combat, etc. Odyssey focused more on exploration which is maybe why you felt it was more empty? I enjoyed it personally but it’s definitely a preference thing.
Which is not a really good criticism in my opnion. It still had a lot of the core elements of AC, they just tried some new things. And a lot of it worked out.
Odyssey was pretty dam good in my opinion.
Found you Roger Simon.
Thanks for the blast from the past lol.
I haven’t been on reddit for years but I always remember it having this problem. My first account was made just so I could get that /r/atheism circlejerk out of my feed.
I don’t know what it’s like now but keep in mind that in addition to the growth, reddit has been taken over by corporate interests. That, and the big increase in traffic, means it’s more of a target for botfarms and things of that nature.
Best way to avoid this problem is to just participate in the smaller niche subreddits in my experience.
Reddit hivemind has been a thing for the entire history of Reddit.
Opinion of what exactly?
Ah that’s my bad. My point still stands though. It’s not like he was able to convince everyone to become Protestant.
No pope has ever had the power to change everyone’s mind with a single word or speech. That’s never been a thing.
MLK definitely did not change everyone’s opinion. A lot of people? Sure. Everyone? Absolutely not.
Was there ever a time that this was the case?
Where do you think half the shitposts and memes come from?
I’ve been buying a lot of Columbia stuff lately. I’m the type where I get hot easily so I’ve been buying their pants and dress shirts as they use a more breathable fabric. I just got used to sizing up a bit. I’m not at a point where I need to wear a belt thankfully.
General rule on knowing if you’re doing it right, you should feel it in your muscles and not in your joints. There’s plenty of online resources to see how to do exercises properly and even upload videos to get some feedback if you’re comfortable with it. You can also book a couple of sessions with a personal trainer if you are able to.
I’d recommend starting with the basic bodyweight exercises. Push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, planks. Those kinds of things. If you’re having trouble doing it unassisted it then do it partially until you can do it fully. Gyms also have machines that can help you do it with weights to make it easier as you build up muscle.
Lifting weights is also a good idea, but just make sure you don’t just do curls and triceps extensions. You need to make sure you do exercises for all your body as all your muscles work together, and if some are more developed than others, it could lead to things like cramps, soreness, and bad posture. This is partly why I recommended the bodyweight exercises in my paragraph above. They’re good at targeting a lot of muscles in each workout.
I’m 30 lmao.
I did not know that .world was made by a Dutch person. Thanks for teaching me something new.
.world seems to have been the default instance people went to when they left reddit. It’s more or less than mentality imported into Lemmy. This led to the fact that creating a US specific instance is not necessary. .world fills that niche enough.
