It’s not a bad thing, gives you the option to read them on the Fediverse and it proves that the Fediverse could possibly be the future of Social Media. It’s good to see other people want to see it grow.

If people don’t like it then personally block it, the only reason for blocking a whole instance, instance wide is if it has morals that conflict to much such as a Anti-LGBT instance vs a LGBT one.

I think it’s a possible change, It will bring a lot of newer people that rather haven’t researched or want to move away from ‘main stream’ platforms to be able to come to the Fediverse and could be really possible for the amount of people being able to interact in general across both platforms.

It would also allow me to move away from Threads and stick to one account for most of the Fediverse based Social Media usage, and I really hope other Social Media’s follow in METAs steps.

I personally just use my phone speakers, but I can see the benefit of not risking your device next to the bath or shower.

Sadly purchasing a phyical copy still will mean you can’t play it due to the required download for most consoles these days.

Yeah this is one of the reasons I’ve been slowly moving my gaming time over to Steam as they very rarely do stuff like this and if they delist the game, if you’ve already purchased the game you can still play it 99.99% of time. Sad to see Playstation go down this route.

I’m guessing this is because of more sales of the Steam Deck, haven’t got myself one yet but I’d love to as everyone that has gotten ones has said it’s worth the money as well as is a great way to get through your games on the go.

And this alternative will not be able to go away easily as Decentralisation allows anyone to run an instance.

It’s where I really hope more of the Reddit community will jump ship to Fediverse instances as there seems to be less and less of a future for reddit in my eyes.

I would hope that donations to the author or something could be a way to fix that at least a little.

It’s always good to see alternatives but decentralized ones seems to be the most likely to become a new norm for people and I’m all here for it.

Yeah it’s one of the major downsides for new users as it will confuse those that are moving from console to PC.

I actually watched this video a few days ago and it’s an amazing new look. Wish they would get hired by Value to design the whole system as it’s impressive.

It doesn’t look to bad, and knowing I don’t currently have a Steam Deck I’d love to get one at some stage.
