This is actually amazing. I’ve done a bit of editing as I play Pokémon Go which uses OSM for the background map. I got fed up of just looking at roads so I mapped in all the buildings, shops, parks etc near me.
This gamifies walking and exploring which I love!

I wonder if they would still be able to sell location data in aggregate?
I play Pokémon Go (yes that’s still a thing) and Niantic recently made a deal that they don’t sell individual location data which people have taken as they sell bulk location data instead (scrubbing data such as your name etc).

I only check Reddit now for a game sub which, while on Lemmy, doesn’t have critical mass yet (and I’m not sure it will).

Doesn’t this make NewPipe better in that instance? If it’s client side you aren’t going to be rate limited.
There is also a fork of NewPipe that integrates SponsorBlock (I don’t know if Piped has that).
What happens if you use SmartTubeNext on a TV? I’m assuming the interface wouldn’t support the 3 strike YouTube popup so I guess you’d just get blocked without knowing why?

I’m using all 3, plus Jerboa, as they are all fantastic apps. At some point I’ll just stick with one, but it’s exciting following the development of these apps. Use Obtainium to keep them up to date (although Connect is Google Play only).
Remember how long DivX/XviD hung on for, it’s all down to device compatibility.

Physical editions for PC gaming for me died a long time ago as I pretty much exclusively use Steam.
Consoles however I always try and get physical where possible.
Sure it is, just Google “pre-owned games” and you’ll probably have hits from whatever the main game supplier js in your country (GameStop, GAME etc.).
I replaced all my movies from x264 to x265 versions. Went to play a movie and it said it couldn’t transcode the file. Looked into it and you have to pay to do hardware transcoding - my own fault for not testing a x265 file first haha.
Installed Jellyfin where transcoding using your own hardware is free and I haven’t looked back.
