I do really like AUR, but agree Flatpak is a good alternative. I can’t stand snap, snap packages just feel slower.

I believe the app is under review to be placed in the App Store so hopefully will be available to everyone soon.
I’m excited to see how it turns out! Send a link to TestFlight when you want feedback!
I use windows, Apple products and Linux. I prefer FOSS products and will go out of my way to use Ubuntu or arch on my desktop and laptops (going on 15 years) even if it’s harder to get working in certain situations (e.g., gaming). I have to use windows at work. I use apple products (iPhone, iPad, headphones, watch) for the same reasons OP stated, they just work. I need a reliable phone and don’t trust google or the other android manufactures so I see apple as the lesser evil.
Use whatever is best for your situation.
Between this and starfield I need to build a new desktop….
Whelp it was a good run with Reddit. But their app is trash and now experimenting blocking browser access is bullshit. That may be the final straw that convinced me to delete my account.
Thanks! I’m so excited for the Starfield portion!
Same here. Mastodon didn’t stick, same with Twitter. Much more of a Reddit user so I expect to be more of a Lemmy user.
Spending time with my family since I don’t see them a lot during the week due to my work schedule. House project. Lots and lots of house projects.
I went from digg to Reddit during that mass exodus and will be doing the same from Reddit to Lemmy. It is a little bittersweet seeing what Reddit was 10+ years ago to what it’s become, but I’m excited for the future and to see what becomes of Lemmy, kbin, etc.
I like how Apollo will show trending subreddits. Not sure if mlem can support that given the federated design of lemmy but it was super useful in finding new subreddits.
I didn’t realize how much I missed swipe capabilities until I started using Mlem. Having those added to the app would be great.
I agree with you. I figure out how to search for communities but a general search functionality would be great!
I can’t wait to see how bad this goes after reading about the Apollo drama with Reddit.
Same here! Took me a minute to figure out Lemmy but it’s not bad. Using Mlem on iOS and excited for the future.
Long time use of Apollo and just tried reddits app to see how bad it was…it sucks compared to all the Reddit apps I’ve used across iOS and Android.
I’ve come around on paying for email (proton mail), but still in the air about paying for search.
