Google will appeal so they haven’t won yet. The next jury might believe them to be patent trolls. Who knows.

I’d love to. Personally I use CAD software that doesn’t have a native Linux option or (good) FOSS alternative. Also, there’s a lot of work done in Excel. No way my company is going to find a transition away from Windows to be attractive.
I, too, am passionate about dental hygiene.
I’m technical in a broad sense but not in the tech industry. I’m a production engineer putting in production lines for the auto industry.
Tbh, Lemmy is much more difficult to get into. I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t somewhat dogmatically against reddit’s shenanigans. My buddy who uses the official app doesn’t really care about any of this stuff. Even I feel a bit alienated by Lemmy because it feels so dominated by tech workers. Your average meme-enjoyer is going to see multiple instances, buggy apps, none of their favorite communities and they’re going to bounce off it. I like Lemmy but we need to be realistic about how palatable it is.
Came here to mention this. I had so many clues and mysteries I was trying to keep track of that I was regularly jotting down notes
How do you know this? What capitalist society has fallen apart that you can point to as an example?
Agreed. I have a similar critique of some of the other comments. A lot of people are pointing to problems right now and drawing the conclusion that capitalism caused those problems. No doubt that capitalism was part of many problems but I think it’s flawed to say the problems of today are uniquely caused by capitalism.
I can’t think of a country that is purely capitalistic. They’re usually some mixture of free-market with government intervention where needed. I think the US is in a period of transition but that description will likely hold for the future.
Management was really worried they didn’t have enough bugs. They were so released when QC came back with a laundry list. Wouldn’t want to damage the brand’s future by setting the bar too high.
Those are multiplayer co-op. Can you even compete in those games?
Yeah he mentioned things like that were happening during the blackout but he said it’s mostly back to normal for him now. He also watches TV and movies with all sorts of ads. For me, that’s an instant pivot to find something else to do. My dad has repeatedly asked me if I want some product he sees in an Instagram ad. I eventually had to tell him to specifically never get me a product he sees in an ad. People on the fediverse aren’t normal. We care a lot about things most people don’t really mind.
I’m not disagreeing but it’s still kicking. My friend who is on reddit said it was weird for a couple days during the blackout but it’s back to normal now. He also wondered why I didn’t use the official app. Like it or not, most people are like him.
Funny enough, the two modes for Smash 4 were “for glory” and “for fun”
Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to be a landmark title for fighting games the same way Street Fighter 4 was in 2009.
You can only release the same game over again each year for so long.
I’ve been saying this about COD for forever. The thing is, they shake it up just enough to stay relevant. They’ll remake an old title, add BR, mess with movement. If anything, FIFA and Madden are enough proof that you don’t need to change the formula. As long as it continues to print money, nothing will change.
We know we aren’t an advanced civilization because we don’t have a green or blue aesthetic and goat features.
Can you think of a game that exists in a gray area? Most games I would consider competitive multiplayer games are pretty obviously so. Maybe something like a BR game where you’re expected to not win. Or Elden Ring where the competitive multiplayer aspect is de-emphasized. Do those games even have casual and ranked modes?
The article mentions restricting the courts in some way but it doesn’t really say how. Does anybody have clarification on how the courts would be restricted under this change?
Easy yes. If anything, that would be a cool story to tell people. I currently live in an apartment complex which used to be the grounds for the states death row and electric chair. It’s an icebreaker.
Mine did that one night. Sleepy fight-or-flight kicked in and I popped her on the top of the head. I felt bad about it immediately but she hasn’t done it since.
