They would have very little reason to invade taiwan at that point. So they probably wouldn’t.
Not about actually needing a reason to invade, it’s about the implication

Just don’t be poor you fuckin’ loser
Considering there’s basically no chance of fucking up the gorilla, I don’t think you’d have to worry about the ethics of the situation.
Package managers was one of things that I had hard time adjusting to when I first adopted Linux, since I was so used to just searching for software on the internet, downloading, and installing it when I was using Windows. Now that I’m comfortable with a package manager, I find the Windows experience of installing software to be so much worse. It’s so much nicer to just install software using one or two commands in the terminal.
This progress isn’t progressive enough!
Ghost Runner has many of the same aspects, and definitely scratches the same itch for me. It’s much more combat focused, but the combat actually feels like it was an intentional part of the game, at least.
If I’m remembering correctly, the game was originally designed to have no guns available to the player, but the team was pressured into adding the shooter mechanics later on. Ignoring guns is definitely the way to go with this game.
I made an extremely half-hearted attempt at it at some point, but couldn’t immediately find any cli commands to toggle that option so I gave up pretty quickly.
Yeah this is really annoying for me as well. I found that if you go into the system tray and click on ‘power management’ and then tick the box for ‘manually block sleep and screen locking’ it’ll solve the issue. Unfortunately it means that your display won’t go dark when the system is idle, so I have to remember to untick that box after I’m done gaming in order to keep that behaviour.
I won’t be arrested at all, as I have been spreading the glory of Managed Democracy across the galaxy.
A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
If your business model relies on you being the only game in town forever, it’s a really shitty business model.
Excellent point. Calling the current streaming landscape decentralized is like calling the current social media landscape decentralized, since you can choose between twitter, reddit, tiktok, or meta. It’s unfortunate that it’s unlikely that a properly decentralized network for video will exist, since the hosting costs are so astronomical.
Luckily the speed at which new counter-measures to anti-piracy technologies can be developed is much faster than any legislative body can ever hope to move. It’s an impossible battle to win by enforcement alone. These companies need to realize that they need to provide actual value to retain customers and remain competitive. People aren’t going to stand for a reskinned version of cable.
Yeah the “I respect the intellectual property rights of others” bit rings a bit hollow.
I guarantee you the C-suite at reddit regularly kick themselves for giving into public backlash and keeping old.reddit. People weren’t happy with the redesign, but they would have definitely gotten used to it fairly quickly. Now, removing it will be another nail in the coffin they’re so desperate to build.
I wonder if these vehicles could be remotely piloted by a human when they become gridlocked, rather than have someone sitting in the cabin the entire time. Seems like just sitting in an autonomous vehicle while it drives long distances would be a particularly terrible job.
Both of these things can be true at the same time.
Unironically, the terminal.
Hey, me either, but telling someone “you don’t like it? Open your own laundromat or shut up” is some stupid shit.
