Sure, and it’s fine when a meme flops. But this person was apparently being an asshole about the entire concept of memes.

My wife is into things I’m not into. Sometimes she even drops references to those things into conversations that I don’t get. You know what I don’t do? I don’t say, “So, I’m supposed to memorize all these TV shows in order to have a conversation with you?” That’s being a jerk, and completely unnecessary. I just kinda politely smile and nod, and move on.

I won’t argue against that. Potato salad is awesome.

Fried chicken is a great picnic food, since it is delicious hot or cold.

Mac and cheese, though… God no. Give me a nice macaroni salad instead.

Honestly, a baguette with some cured meats and cheeses sounds like an amazing picnic meal to me.

My vote, if I got one, would be moving it. I do think there is value in a place to watch Reddit crumble from afar, if only to point and laugh. However, if you just don’t want the burden of modding the community anymore, you need to do what’s right for you.

As for where to move it to, I follow a few communities on Kbin.social, and they seem nice.
