Reducing your meat consumption is likely the most effective way of lowering your personal climate ‘footprint’.

I hear this a lot, but I think the context of what other actions are available and their relative impact is important in this kind of discussion.

Of course, this is all with the knowledge that trying to put the onus of fixing climate change on the individual is both doomed to fail and a great burden for many. Climate change can only be properly addressed by top-down action, which we should all advocate for.

  • The Mandalorian is probably the best star wars show out there at the moment. There is a world-of-the-week vibe to it, but like most modern shows the primary focus is on the overarching plot and characters that recur. That said, if you liked Andor I think you’ll thoroughly enjoy The Mandalorian.

If you like animated shows, Futurama is a classic. If you want something a bit more obscure and odd, Final Space is a good and funny show too. That’s starting to stray pretty far away from Star Trek other than it taking place in space though.

  • Oh no, I wasn’t “convinced I had you”, I knew you wouldn’t critically think about what you said. I posted that for the benefit of others. I’m sure you’re already aware of the many articles and scientific journals discussing the problem of overpopulation but you intentionally choose to ignore them to push your narrative.

  • I love having alternative desktop-first interfaces! Really appreciate you putting the time in to make this.

    A couple hopefully constructive thoughts:
I find the text a little bit hard to read. It’s like the text is lightly purple on top of being on a purple background. Maybe one gets used to this over time.
Why the decision to not show profile pictures and community icons without hovering over them? It makes it much easier for me to identify what community content is coming from at a glance when those are present.
