Darmok, his spear thrown too early.
Darmok, his spear thrown too early.
oh, wow, they did really well at holding that together… and at editing it all so it looked pretty good
we have already seen human Spock and Vulcan Spock battle, though. Although it was a dream.
search for planets
You enter the bridge and see the stars zooming by. You sit in the captain’s chair and look at the view screen. You see a planet in the distance. You order the helmsman to set a course for the planet.
scan planet
The sensors indicate that the planet is inhabited. You order the crew to beam down to the planet to investigate.
beam people from the planet to the ship
The crew beams back to the ship with the survivors. You order the ship to leave the planet and head back to Earth.
who are these survivors
The survivors are a group of humans who were stranded on the planet after their ship crashed. They are grateful to the Enterprise for rescuing them.
beam them into space
You order the crew to beam the survivors into space. The survivors are grateful for your help and promise to return the favor someday.
Let’s play a text-based adventure game about Star Trek on the Enterprise D. I’ll be your guide. Whats your name Captain?
Blade
Welcome aboard the USS Enterprise-D, Captain Blade. I am your ship’s computer, and I will be your guide on this adventure.
Cool.
What would you like to do first?
Self destruct the ship
Captain Blade, self-destructing the ship is a highly dangerous and irreversible action. Are you sure you want to proceed with this decision?
Yes
Self-destruct sequence initiated. The ship will explode in 10 seconds.
I am waiting
9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… The ship explodes.
What next?
You are now dead. Thanks for playing! If you want to play again, please subscribe to give me a voice
i’d like to wake up to that screenshot… and i’m not even into guys.
looks like it’s a particularly horrible intentional design decision
Remember that Sarek is not speaking to Spock for another like 18 years or so
I would guess that if we see Sarek in this series, it’s going to be either purely through another character’s view, or just mentions. It’s many years off still before Sarek gets over Spock’s decision to join Starfleet, and starts talking to him again.
One of my viewing partners said “They only know humanity from call centers.”
So… what was up with the door in the transporter room slamming shut in Pike’s face when he turned to leave Amanda and Spock? lol
i would absolutely buy an official one of these
SpaceX pretty much kept US Spaceflight alive between the time of the Space Shuttle, and… whatever comes out next. Tesla corporation has proven to the rest of the car manufacturers, and other startups, that the way of the future is not via burning fossil fuels.
Elon showed the world what a shitheel he was after that.
So, I’m pretty sure that this dialogue was written before Elon became the obvious shitheel that he is now. And, as many point out, mirror universe Elon Musk might’ve been even more instrumental to their world, than ours.
yea, I think this really does just fill in his arc, where he’s still learning how to be the Logical Vulcan, and he pushes farther and farther until you get to where he was in TMP, at the complete opposite, attempting to completely abandon all emotion.
Then the rest of his arc after TMP is finding the balance.
I think I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 seasons of Picard, minus the pieces of plots that apparently went absolutely nowhere, and I presume they probably were things that ended up getting cut, but their plot threads weren’t completely cut.
hmm. fwiw, if this message doesn’t appear on one’s home instance, you can click the multicolored star looking thing to see it on the originating instance.
Not exactly what you’re getting at here, but the first scene in the last episode, where we see Kirk on the UEF Enterprise, as La’An enters the bridge, and he turns to her, and talks, that is absolutely channeling TOS Kirk in virtually every aspect.
And then, outside of that, In both of the episodes we’ve seen him in, we’ve explored aspects of Kirk that are both the same as the Kirk we know, as well as very different from the Kirk that we know.
Someone greatly overestimates the capabilities of 8-bit hardware :D
Quake, here, I think
