I miss the arcade-y feel of older racing games. Everything these days tries too hard to be a simulator, that they end up stripping the fun out of it. I want sparks to fly out of my tires when I drift even though they’re rubber and wouldn’t actually do that, I want wacky announcers with color commentary, I don’t want to shift gears.
I want games like Ridge Racer and Need for Speed to make a comeback.
This is a really interesting situation. Even though this isn’t a content update, it’s still a pretty significant update for a game that has nobody left on the development team, which is almost a “ghost in the shell” scenario on its own. I’m guessing the work from this was done largely by Intel and/or AMD. And it makes sense why they’d be pushing out updates for a game that the studio has stopped working on; people still use CP77 to show off the capabilities of their high-end PCs, which is free advertising for these guys.
I just love that we got to see Cyberpunk go from “so broken that it was pulled from stores” to “THE benchmark game”.
Outside of our very small internet bubble, yes that’s an incredibly unpopular opinion. By and large, people love Twitter, as evidenced by it still being one of the most-used platforms around.
I’ll be real, I think this is more of a problem with Fandom than Google. Fandom has been abusing the fuck out of their SEO lately, and manage to push their shitty site to the top results on almost any fiction media-related search you do now.
Yeah, Google’s AI got the preview wrong, but it probably wouldn’t have happened if Fandom wasn’t constantly injecting themselves into every single search. They allow users to post anything they want, without any vetting, and then push those inaccurate posts to the search engines.
Half the time, the page on Fandom is a 100% copy/paste of the page from Wikipedia, except with a thousand ads littering the page. Guess which one shows up first in the search results, though?
It reminds me of that bacon-flavored soda that was popular for a couple weeks until everybody tried it and was like “Yep, that’s what drinking bacon is like” and never bought a second bottle.
I would definitely classify The Finals as a live service. The way I see it, any game that is designed to be “never-ending”, and have a constant stream of new content (free or paid) would fall under this category of game.
I wouldn’t say it’s a requirement for all live service games, but I’d also say that anything that uses “seasonal” content models would also be considered a live service.
Open it up without shaking it up or jostling it too much. Is it still powdery all the way through? If so, it’s probably safe.
If you open it up and the mix has any clumps or inconsistent coloring, toss it in the trash because it’s likely been exposed to moisture, which invites a ton of potential problems.

Technophobes are trying to downplay this because “AI bad”, but this is actually a pretty significant leap from GPT and we should all be keeping an eye on this, especially those who are acting like this is just more auto-predict. This is a completely different generation process than GPT which is just glorified auto-predict. It’s the difference between learning a language by just reading a lot of books in that language, and learning a language by speaking with people in that language and adjusting based on their feedback until you are fluent.
If you thought AI comments flooding social media was already bad, it’s soon going to get a lot harder to discern who is real, especially once people get access to a web-connected version of this model.
This was a really fun take. Even though it’s ridiculous, it’s fun to entertain theories like this!
I’ll throw a wrench in the works for anyone who wants to theorycraft further: Say the rocks floating up aren’t caused by gravity at all, but some other force. Maybe extreme winds caused by a massive celestial body approaching the planet’s surface could be strong enough to create enough lift to make the rocks float. Kind of like the vortexes and turbulence you’d create in a pool of water by dropping a bowling ball into it. What sort of properties would the moon need to have for this to be the explanation for the floating rocks?
Assuming the app is legitimate, sure. But unless you can verify the code, yourself, then you’re having to trust that the source you download from hasn’t altered the APK in some way. That’s a pretty big risk for most people when it comes to finance apps.
Play Protect has been around for a few years now and will disable apps it detects that are abusing user data.
If they don’t have access to Play, then the developer of that app specifically does not want to service them as a user. Developers have to enable this feature in their own apps for it to do anything. If that developer wanted to support de-Googled users, they wouldn’t enable this in the first place.
I’ll be real, I wouldn’t trust a banking app from any third-party storefront to begin with. That’s the sort of app I’d really want to be properly vetted and secured.
Mbin is a fork of Kbin. A lot of users have moved from Kbin instances to Mbin, as the Kbin dev has had some personal life issues that have interfered with his ability to reliably work on the project.
I’ve been getting back into playing The Finals lately. Kinda similar to Splitgate, in that the mechanics are easy to understand and mastering them will yield you a lot of fun and victory. The movement is very snappy, there’s a lot of variety in how you can play, and matches are relatively quick.
It’s an objective-based shooter, so you won’t win just by getting kills; you have to complete a specific goal before your enemies to actually win. So it’s a bit like Overwatch or TF2 in that regard (kinda dated references, I know) in terms of goals and a player’s abilities. And the gunplay feels very much like Battlefield, which would make sense because ex-DICE devs worked on this game, I believe. It’s also got crossplay.
It’s got a seasonal/live service model for cosmetics. The battle pass and any other MTX are all only for cosmetics, though; unlocking weapons/abilities can only be done through gameplay, with no skip mechanics. So no weapons, abilities, maps, game modes, etc can be bought with real money at all. Figured I’d mention, since I know that’s a turnoff for a lot of people, but I’ve been enjoying it as a free player.
