This one was just doodling with a fountain pen in my sketchbook (the pages have that nice 1mm orange grid). I generally just dive straight in with pen, getting all of the linework in there first, then slowly thicken up lines, add shadows, stippling, etc.
No planning for this one. It’s actually pretty rare I plan anything out. Maybe something basic like “mostly straight + angular lines” or “just stippling”.
