There’s a bug that prevents me from deleting my account, could you look into it? I’ve tried to login to my Lemmy account on both mobile (brave and safari) and desktop (brave and tor) but it keeps refreshing each time I click “delete account”, preventing me from pasting my password and proceed.
One issue you may find is that you need all federated instances (not just those that your instance chooses to federates with, but those that choose to federate with your instance - particularly in spite of a lack of mutual federation) to actually honour that deletion.
However instances should definitely be managing their own membership better than they are currently. Instances should recruit their own devs, rather than relying on core lemmy codebase.
This is why I’m on lemm.ee. The dev here has proven his intentions to fix things and only update with things that work. His improvements and mods are always pushed up to the main code, and when new issues come in he’s on them like a hawk.
