I would have far fewer issues with gacha games if more studios took that gacha money and used it to fund projects like this instead of swimming in it scrooge mcduck style.
The Arknights developer Hypergryph has created a bunch of new divisions to develop different games, including non-gacha single player ones. Their first non-gacha game Ex Astris was a bit underwhelming… but it costs like 9 bucks, so it’s not like the expectations are that high at least for me.
Lesser known studio Project Moon also released a gacha game (Limbus Company) which they did I believe expressly say was to fund their future full release games. I would honestly really recommend their games, especially Library of Ruina if you enjoy difficult games with pretty cool story/setting.
