So sayeth suprabay . Here’s hoping that it will reawaken refreshed in the near future. UPDATE: seems to be flickering awake as of UTC: Mon, 19 Jun 2023 15:44:19 ish (yet still no tor/onion)

Wait, I got a torrent from www.1377x.to, it’s https, the other gets blocked by the browser. 🤔
I hope it wasn’t a virus, the torrent had many seeds…
Was that an executable? Otherwise you should be okay
It was a Mario kart 8 deluxe with latest update which included a copy of yuzu early, I’ll check later if it was from 1377 or 1337, now I’m a bit confused.
Edit: I just checked it was in fact 1377x.to…
@Ivyymmy The whole point of that site is to distribute viruses, so if you didn’t get one consider yourself lucky. You should run windows defender, malwarebytes and norton power eraser just to be sure
I checked the torrent from the official site and it linked to the same files as the scammy site ones I have seeding. I guess I missed the bullet this time.
@ILeftReddit @theophrastus @heidrun @Sebastrion @Ivyymmy @orsetto on just linux ;)
@hyde running sketchy files on linux can be just as dangerous as windows. Linux’s strength comes from it’s trusted ecosystem of repositories and mainly open source programs which are easily auditable.
@ILeftReddit sure but it’s still more secure than windows :)
@hyde too an extent yes, but once again, if you give root access to malware because you don’t know any better, well you’re kind of just as screwed. If linux is to become more mainstream and be a daily driver of the average user, this could be a common scenario
@ILeftReddit True… But I hope Linux users will learn a bit more about their OS 🤷♂️
