Reflective surfaces inside cars are the bane of my existence
The absolute worst. Sometimes they just have it on the emblem/branding, which is manageable at least. Then there are the ones like above with glossy plastic and reflective silver lining everything so the sun can find a direct path to your retina from any angle. It’s almost recall-worthy in some vehicles.
I had a metal gear knob that got too hot to touch and I had to change gears using the gear stick under the knob.
My husbands car came with a B&M shifter, that has a billet shift knob. It’s manual, and a black car without window tint. You can imagine how fun that was in SoCal summers.
I sewed him a “koozie” to put on it while it’s parked. Works really well. Surprisingly.
Bite my shiny metal gear shift
SHUT UP BABY I KNOW IT!
At this point, I’d get some black matte paint and get that shit painted. That’s borderline dangerous
I don’t know if you’re looking for solutions, but if you Google how to pull apart that centre console for your specific car, it’s usually fairly easy and there’ll be videos showing you how. You could do a reasonable job of painting it or covering it with a material that’s not so shiny.
Man, that’s rough. My wife’s Chevy sonic has a shiny bow tie in the middle of the steering wheel that I swear was perfectly designed to shoot sunlight straight into your retinas.
