kind of like an episode of succession except no one’s rich, but somebody is going to jail
edit: forgot about Settlers of Catan. my mom was like “I have a deck of cards but I can’t find Trivial Pursuit!” Yeah, no.
Carcassonne and Arboretum sound cool as heck, probably can’t find them in a day
Monopoly, go directly to jail, do not pass go.
Operation, whoever loses Monopoly has to play blindfolded.
Catan?
yeah aware of it haven’t played it but i can maybe find it on short notice
Walmart usually has it. And also it’s a great game that usually goes well for all players.
Settlers of?
Yes.
My son suggests Arboretum. It’s a strategy card game that is deceptively simple.
My parents really liked Ticket to Ride and Qwirkle. Much more complicated than that, though, and my dad starts pulling faces.
Cards against humanity? I’ll never forget my gen x sister-in-law explaining to my boomer mother-in-law what a queef is. That was peak family game night
Carcassonne, if you can find it. It’s competitive but also can be played altuisticaly/collaboratively if there’s a strong player and lots of newbies.
