Sometimes people build things just because they want to. Some people will take a look and say “hey that’s cool” and use it. Some others will take a look and say “this does nothing for me” and both are valid opinions to have. IMO nobody should have to justify an open source project unless asking for funding.

That’s a common misconception. The US actually invests a metric fuckton of money into the healthcare system. It’s just that they have the most inefficient possible healthcare system, so providing just medicare, medicaid and VA benefits, which don’t come close to covering everyone, costs more (in %of GDP, not just absolute numbers) than for most countries the cost of subsidizing healthcare for everyone.

Hell, even conservatives might be happier under a socialized healthcare system. There could even be LESS government spending and people would be getting subsidized healthcare.

Wine already exists and can run pretty new Windows software. A fork also exists for MacOS and the other BSDs can also run Wine.

Running Windows apps on Linux natively seems impractical to me, the OSes are structured very differently and I’m fairly sure this would introduce many hard to fix CVEs.

ReactOS does actually submit patches to wine sometimes because they use parts of wine! But they have their own windows-like kernel so they only need wine for userland, not the whole thing

This case is so important, so high profile, that they just need to arrest someone ASAP. Anyone. And that person is not in for a good time.

That sounds completely plausible. Three letter agencies have ridiculous amounts of intel. I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist, but so many things seem off. Part of me thinks this is some rando that’s gonna have to take the fall so that the rest of America believes that the police is all-powerful and can find any criminal. Hell, part of me thinks this perfect suspect is all made up.

I’ve been considering it tbh… And I know what my target audience would be even.
