Oh god how did this get here I am not good with computer
Looking at the pot, that’s legitimately the first idea I had if OP wants to go the malicious compliance route. I’d be tempted to build a table around the plant pot. Something like this (but for outdoors):
Wait, hold the fuck up. David Tennant is returning as another Doctor!? I haven’t watched much since the Matt Smith era, but how the hell does that work with the DW lore?
I struggled with this one even before I dropped it, so I feel your pain. Through some trial and error, I found that this guy likes lots of light and little water.
Light-wise, he’s in a east facing window that gets a ton of morning/early afternoon sun. Used to be in a spot that got direct sun but I had to move things around recently and it’s less direct now (so hopefully I haven’t jinxed it lol)
For watering, I know a lot of people say to do the “taco test” (i.e. fold the leaves gently and if they fold like a taco, then it’s time to water) but I found that was waiting too long between waterings. I just go on the weight of the pot now. I still wait until the soil is dry all the way through but not long enough that the leaves “taco”. I also feel like a shallow pot is super important. The grey cache pot is tall to allow hanging but the pot inside is only 2 inches deep (it’s a custom job, I cut a nursery pot in half). I’ve also found that it responds best to bottom watering because the water just kind of runs through if I go from the top.
Shitty? Bruh, that looks fucking delicious. I’d demolish that whole pan.
r/place is an interactive art project run by reddit on April Fools. It ran in 2017 and 2022. Now they’ve brought it back for 2023 (it was supposed to have happened on April Fools this year, but various…things…happened). It kicked off again today and as expected, it’s gained attention for the bad timing (protests, tone deaf admin, etc…) and people have coordinated to write “fuck spez” messages and other things (at some point, there was a guillotine + reddit’s head).
There’s definitely going to be more reddit exoduses. Over the last 10 years, there were several moments where this could’ve happened but there weren’t any viable options (except Voat, but that went to the Nazis 👎). Now that there’s Lemmy, Squabbles, Tildes, etc…, I think people’s appetite for putting up with reddit’s bullshit is a lot less. I think the next big one will be when reddit introduces the new “awards” system in a couple of months.
I gave Lemmy a toque.
And then I was reminded of Bob and Doug, so…
Where did all the 90 minute movies go? I’m up for a longer movie if it can hold my attention (I have the same problem of dozing off) but 90 minutes was the sweet spot. Especially because you could make a late night (10pm or after) snap decision to watch a movie and still be in bed before midnight.
It was !android@lemmy.world that closed down and merged into !android@lemdro.id
I’m in favour of defedding. It’s just Reddit spam that’s not needed here. If people find interesting things over on Reddit that also belong here, that’s one thing, but there’s no reason to make a 1:1 copy. Let Lemmy be Lemmy and let Reddit be Reddit. They don’t have to be the same thing.
Has anyone noticed @linkbot@lemmy.link as well? Is it doing the same thing?
You’re on thin ice posting food porn worthy stuff here 😋
Release notes if anyone is interested. Lots of good stuff.
A lot of us just left a site because it was ruined by corporate greed. I don’t think corporations belong in the fediverse. If there’s a vote, I vote for defedding with Threads.
I really like the idea behind “do not change the intention/message of the original title” instead of “the original title must be used”. Gives a little bit of flexibility to the situation.
I tried to combine the best of both works and added the following community rule to /c/Victoria:
Avoid editorializing/sensationalizing news article titles, i.e. do not change the intention/message of the original title.
Want to preface this by saying I’m not trying to attack, I’m just looking for some clarification so I fully understand. I’m going to use two of my posts as an example because I’ve changed titles to make things more clear/relevant to the community.
Post Title: “Emerson the elephant seal has departed from Oak Bay Marina beach”
Original article title: “Roving elephant seal gone from Oak Bay Marina beach”
Post Title: “11 Island breweries (6 from Greater Victoria) pick up medals at 2023 Canadian Brewing Awards”
Original title: “Greater Victoria breweries bring home hardware from national beer awards”
As I understand it, neither of these would be allowed under the new rule, correct?
Wasn’t expecting someone to mention Yakuza when I opened this thread! I’m in the middle of playing Kiwami 2 right now after having played 0 and Kiwami 1 like 2 years ago. I’m super glad it had a massive recap of the previous game at the beginning because as much as like the series, there’s so much shit that goes on and I didn’t remember half of it. I think 0 is the standout in the series so far and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into the games.
From the original post, it sounds like this is for instances where there’s a massive influx of users but little to no posts/comments. For example, the top of the spreadsheet lists lemmy.podycust.co.uk that has >86000 users and 9 Posts/34 Comments. That honestly seems pretty suspicious to me. So I don’t think Beehaw or any legitimate instance is going to caught in this.
On the plus side, you can try baking apples again with your new charcoal briquette.
I always heard that pearls/jade and n’joy were slower growing varieties of the original marble queen. I found that mine started to really take off after I pruned it back and stuck a couple of fertilizer sticks in the pot. I’ve also got a marble and I gotta say, it’s been keeping up with it growth-wise lately haha
