Dear media, stop saying, “hypersonic,” like it is some big deal. Nearly every missile system that is in any way useful meets that criteria. It’s akin to a headline discussing “edible” food.

It used to be that when people talked about hypersonic missiles it was understood to mean hypersonic cruise missile, something that could hug terrain and maneuver. Then Russia and China came out with “hypersonic missiles” that were just ballistic with maybe some minor maneuverability so the term doesn’t mean anything until you dig deeper.

The one they got from Russia?

The one we can reliably shoot down with 40 year old PATRIOT systems?

LOL, ok. North Korea says a lot of stupid things.

The DPRK has hypersonic warheads, now? Whatever’s going on in their education system, I want some of it.

Why not engage with the comment’s contents, instead of completely disregarding it?

NK is one of the most sanctioned countries right now. The fact that they manufacture advanced tech like this is impressive.

Not to mention that there are people alive today who remember a time when North Koreans needed to live in caves to avoid all of the napalm the USA was dropping on the countryside because they literally ran out of targets to bomb
