I gotta say between the writers strike and switching to lemmy and mastodon, my mental health has been a lot better. I didn’t realize how much watching clips of late night talk shows was giving me a “doom scrolling” effect. I’m also getting to catch up on a huge backlog of TV shows and movies I’ve been meaning to see. I definitely empathize with all the creatives losing their livelihood, but Im ok with this strike lasting until the execs start feeling some of the same pain.
This is very similar to me! I’ve also had a lot more time for hobbies like music! And I can get a similar experience but in more bite sized chunks
I’m not missing anything. They have been forced to pump out garbage for years. Hopefully when this is all over, things will change.
Big cheers of solidarity to the striking writers and union leadership for remaining steadfast.
WGA’s demands are reasonable. The studio association can’t just weasel out of them if they want the strike to end.
